Tucker Acres Fuel Break

Funded by: Pacific Gas & Electric

Completed: August 2024

The Tucker Farm Center parcel lies in between State Highway 29 and Bothe State Park with a neighborhood above it.  Proper vegetation management in this area had not taken place in an estimated 50 years with dead and dying oaks, grey pine, madrone, and shrub, needing to be cleared.  Napa Firewise was able to create a shaded fuel break between the Tucker Farmer Center and nearby neighborhood, removing hazardous material including approximately 3 acres of brush that was chipped and broadcasted.

The fuel treatment in this project transformed a critical hazard to a fully-managed landscape that is defensible.
